RCSI Glover Alley
JSD Contracting is nearing completion of the conservation project for the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland on Glovers Alley, Dublin 2.
Restoration works are being unveiled as the scaffolding is being removed as the works progress.
This conservation project included some of the following works:
Cleaning, repair, replacement (where necessary) and repointing of the existing brickwork and calp stone.
Restoration and re-glazing of all existing timber windows.
Installation of new cast iron rainwater goods. Stripping of existing roofs, replacing rotten timbers, treating remaining timbers insulating and reslating with blue bangor slate.
Removal, restoration and reinstallation of existing balconettes.
Cleaning and structural repairs to brick elevation and repairs to damaged granite sills.
RCSI Toilet Refurbishment
At the end of November, JSD Contracting successfully handed over the last phase of the refurbishment of the 1st floor toilet facilities and installation of a disabled lift for the Royal College of Surgeons.
The project involved the widening of the general circulation corridor, the installation of a new lift platform, the renovation of the bathroom areas and associated works on the first floor to improve disability access.
The following works took place:
Removal of doors and partitions, Sanitary ware and associated plumbing was removed from bathrooms. Removal of masonry work to create new openings and removal of existing stairs and lift platform. Widening of existing door openings.
Installation of new compartment walls/partitions, fire rated doors.
Installation of new widened stairs with handrails on both sides and a new platform lift.
Installation of sanitary ware and associated works in new bathrooms.
SDCC Sports Pavilion Dodder Valley
JSD Contracting is the preferred contractor with South Dublin County Council for the contract to construct Parks Pavilions (Changing Facilities), ancillary works and services.
This is a Design and Build Project and will be rolled out in six different locations for South Dublin County Council.
The first of these projects is underway in Dodder Valley and is on schedule for completion early 2020. This project involved the construction of a new single storey sports pavilion and associated car park.
