About us

Health and Safety

Health & Safety is of paramount importance on each and every project undertaken by JSD regardless of size, location or any other factors.

In 2017 JSD achieved a number of accreditations which when combined make up our Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management System (QEHS).

JSD introduced a Safety Management System and is committed to adhering to the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 standard.

It is the policy of JSD to seek and provide safe working conditions for all its personnel, whether working on a full time, part time or voluntary basis and to enlist the active support of JSD personnel and sub-contractors in achieving such conditions.

Safe Working Conditions
In order to provide safe working conditions a working Health & Safety Plan is established at the commencement of each project. The challenges that each project presents are considered on a project by project basis.

The following documentation is prepared as a result of each project review:

  • Safety Management System & Safety Statement.
  • Detailed Method Statements & Risk Assessment for all areas of work to be undertaken.
  • A schedule for Safety Audits is compiled for the duration of the project.
In order for Health & Safety to be given the correct priority on our projects, JSD are committed to providing personnel with the correct information, training and supervision that they need in order to carry out their activities safely and efficiently.

This reaches not only to direct employees but also to sub-contractors and any visitors to our projects.
This is achieved with carefully planned staff training and the hosting of Toolbox Talks on Site.
